King Valley Art Show By KVTA
The King Valley Art Show is held on the Queen’s Birthday Weekend each year in June. With prizes totalling $15,000, over 350 entries are expected to fill the King Valley Cucina shed transformed into an eclectic gallery from Friday June 5th till Monday June 8th. Over 1,000 people are expected to attend the event over the weekend with the opportunity to purchase a quality artwork.
Since its establishment in 1997, the Art Show has been slowly growing and it’s a wonderful event to indulge in. The event starts with a Gala Opening on the Friday night where you can be inspired by the scope of work on display, with the standard raised each year.
The room is abuzz with speculation on the winning entries, which this year will be judged by Tony Flint. Tony is a North East artist with an enviable track record and a major exhibition of his work has just closed at the Benalla Art Gallery. Having lived his entire life in rural regions, his work concentrates on the Australian landscape, its history and issues.
King Valley Art Show President, Anita Laurence, said that it is important to recognise how enthusiastic the local community is about the Art Show. Most sponsorship comes from the immediate area with both businesses and individuals donating, and local volunteers generously giving their time for the many tasks required, which is a reflection of this enthusiasm.
The King Valley Art Show Committee extend a warm invitations to all residents in the North East to come along and enjoy their local Art Show.
