Nerdmania Comes To Shepparton By Sean Conway

Have you ever wanted to visit Comic-Con or Supanova but could not find the time or money to go? Well now is your chance. From the people that brought you the extremely successful Zombie Experience, Word and Mouth, a youth run not-for-profit organisation in Shepparton, brings you NERDMANIA 2015 the first regional Victorian pop culture expo.

The event will be held in the McIntosh Centre at the Shepparton Showgrounds, on Saturday, July 11 from 10am – 5pm. Since its announcement NERDMANIA 2015 has been highly anticipated, with over 450 people saying they will come to it via the Facebook page alone.

NERDMANIA 2015 will have many exhibits including merchandise vendors, Cosplay competitions, gaming areas and much more. These exhibits will represent a wide variety of pop culture, so you needn’t worry there will truly be something for everyone. For those of you who are in to collecting the cool and the rare, there will be a swap meet as well, so bring your gear along, even if it’s just to show them off. The Shepparton LARP club will be coming to explain what LARPing is and how you can join and have lots of fun, so if you’re interested in roleplaying keep an eye out for their information panel.

A gaming area will also be available for players to bring along there card/board games to play or trade with other players, maybe even teach other people how to play the games. There will also be competitions such as Cosplay, art, and possibly even gaming tournaments. For the  Star Wars fans out there, the longest running non official Star Wars fan club in the world, Star Walking will be coming to NERDMANIA 2015 with lots of Star Wars Cosplay and merchandise.

So if you’re a true nerd at heart, or even just a casual nerd, come in your favourite cosplay, bring your games, and have some fun with fellow nerds. See you at NERDMANIA 2015.
